Create New List

Email Lists are the most important aspect of your email marketing strategy - it's nothing but collection of email addresses that are grouped under a common theme.

For example, you may want to create a list of all users who wish to receive the monthly newsletter, users who would like to be notified of any deals & promotions, and those who would like to be the first one to know about any new products and offerings. In that case, you would have following 3 lists:

  1. Monthly Newsletter
  2. Deals & Promotions
  3. New Products & Offerings

It's important to create and maintain separate lists rather than combing all email addresses in one. It allows the user to subscribe to specific or targeted lists only and receive the emails they're interested in. It also gives them option of unsubscribing from a particular list instead of unsubscribing completely.

Generally, you would send a new email campaign to existing Email Lists only so the end users can manage their preferences and opt in / out accordingly. However, Live Campaign does support sending the email campaign directly to DNN Security Roles, Manual Specified Emails, and Emails retrieved via a SQL Query.

Step 1: Creating List

Let's begin by creating a new list in which subscribers can be added or imported.

Navigate to Live Campaign module > Lists & Subscribers > Create a New List

Create New List

Step 2:

List Name

Provide this list an easy to remember name that you'll recognize when you're sending an email campaign

List Description

Provide the description of the list which is visible to users when they opt (subscribe) in or opt out (unsubscribe) of the list

List Type

Public lists are visible to users so they can opt in (subscribe) or opt out (unsubscribe). Private lists are for internal use only and are not shown to the users.

Refer to Add Subscribers section to manually enter or bulk import email addresses into your newly created list.
