I am hoping this is an easy answer for someone -- does anyone know how to add a lightbox effect to an image used within a layer of Live Slider 8?
There might be even more answers than this, but both Live Images and Live Content would provide a pop-up lightbox effect. They do it in different ways. You can run with that or if you let me know if you have either of those modules I can give you more directions to match what you have. Also, if you are using the Porto theme, there is a modal popup short code that would also do the job. Other themes might also have a modal popup. Check yours.
Hello, I don't want to hijack this thread, but I am looking for similar functionality but have been unable to put something together. I have porto4 theme + collection.
I need a simple slider of images, but they will pop up in a lightbox window and display a larger image. Amazon, VRBO and other major websites use this for their images of products.
Hello,You can use Live Images module (Automatic Mode) and provide image link in slide/layer link.
Refer to the below documentation:

Your browser doesn't have Flash, Silverlight or HTML5 support.
You would probably use the Live Slider module for the slider portion of your requirement.
Then put the Live Photos module somewhere on the page too and follow the directions provided in the previous forum entry. It is an easy way to create the pop-up light box with left and right buttons for other photos on the page. Note that the Live Photos module does not store photos inside itself, nor does it pull photos from the hard drive. It displays photos that are already on the page somewhere else. So that means you will need your gallery of images to be on the page already. You might do that with a small homemade gallery perhaps. If you worked a little harder you could put a string of photos on your page somewhere with css that shrinks them down to nothing or hides them. That way they are on the page, but not visible until the pop-up light box shows them.
