I'm fairly new at responsive design. Could someone point me in the right direction on best practice to get the Live Slider module to look good on desktop and mobile? The desktop slideshow is too wide for mobile, causing a very narrow strip. I would like a different view on mobile - one that fills the viewport vertically. Do I create a second instance of the module and add code to show/hide one or the other instances of the module? Or is there a way to handle this inside the module itself?
Thank you.
John
Just create another slide that is mobile specific and set its display option to Mobile Only. Set the original slide to Desktop Only.
Thanks you, Mandeep. I tried that, but the slider module itself seems to have a fixed height. So regardless of how narrow I make the mobile slide, it seems bound by the module height. Am I missing something?
John, in that case I'd add another Live Slider module that is targeting Mobile only; the original one for Desktop only.
Your browser doesn't have Flash, Silverlight or HTML5 support.
Just to update the thread in case anyone else is pursuing this: I added two slider modules to the page, each with dimensions optimized for desktop and mobile. I placed @media commands with the display: none parameter in the Custom CSS file to show one or the other. Works great. Thanks again, Mandeep.
Appreciate the input in this thread. What is considered best practice for image dimensions for slider backgrounds for mobile devices...? Thanks...David
You can use 576 x 325 dimensions for image and slider settings.
