Migrating Live Articles content to a new site

We have a client who has many years on news articles in Live Articles (Version1.4.1 - through we could upgrade it if needed on DNN 7.4.2), we are currently rebuilding the site from the ground up in a new version of DNN (9.4.4, Live Articles 3.3.3) but they want to keep the historic news articles.

I can import the articles on the new site but I am looking for a way to export them from the existing site? I could go and extract them directly from the database in SQL, but I am surprised this is not an easier way to do this?

Live Articles doesn't have export functionality. So you can only export articles from Database.

Agreed Cody, it does seem reasonable.

But having now done this in SQL and deep-dived into the data structure is it not as simple as it sounds as there are multiple tags and categories per Article, not to mention versioning and deleted articles...
