Migrating YAF, Active Forums, DNN Forums to Live Forums

Many of us use already a forum module like YAF/Active Forums/DNN Forums to Live Forums. Without a proper migration offered by you it is difficult for me to make the switch. Do you have migration tools? If not, when are those available?

There are no import capabilities at this time. We'll be happy to import your existing data from another service/module under our Premium Support.

I would suggest adding the import suggestion to our Community Ideas. If there's enough community interest, we'll add the import routine for the most populate modules/services on our roadmap for next version.

Alternatively, the community may be interested in pooling and sponsoring this development right away.

Yes, I am ready to sponsor this development. Currently, I am running YAF and I would like to move that into Live Forums. Can you put a price on this Mandeep?

Or maybe I should make the YAF forum read-only, remove it from the menu and start fresh with Live Forums?

Either way. Whatever you think would be the most valuable for your community. I'll be happy to provide a quote. To do so, I would ask that you open a support ticket on our site and provide us with the database backup so we can evaluate the existing schema of YAF and provide a quote for migration. Thanks

I have received and accepted the quote for a migration tool which imports posts from YAF into Live Forums. This tool will be available for the community once it has been released and Mandeep announced that a version for 'YAF to Live Exchange' will also be made soon. If you need to migrate Active Forums or DNN Forums into Live Forums or Live Exchange I bet this will be ready in no time because YAF to Live Forums is already in the make... just ask it here.

The latest versions of Live Forums and Live Exchange can import from YAF.

I see that 5 days ago the capacity to import from YAF was added - anything happen with an import from Active Forums? I've got a small Active Forums instance on a small site but I'd love to be able to preserve it.

I sponsored YAF to Live Forums/Live Exchange migration. Maybe you should do the same.

    I realize that this was sponsored by a community member. Can you advise if there is any work being done on a migration tool for Active Forum?

    Brian,
    Import routines are usually sponsored by a specific client and then introduced in the commercial release for general community. We're currently working on import from DNN Q&A module. Please contact us if you would like to sponsor the import from Active Forums. Thanks
