A better answer would be to find a way to delete these fields outside of the Form Editor but as a workaround, I added a Form action on view that hides the two fields if one of them is empty.
This doesn't require another upgrade.
I would recommend you to upgrade latest version of Live Forms(v5.8.9)
We only support latest version of our products.
You can always find the latest version of our products in Downloads section.
We highly recommend that you upgrade to the latest version and see if that resolves the issue. We'll be happy to assist if the issue persists in the latest version.
Our upgrade policy offers free lifetime minor updates and discounted major upgrades. Learn more about our Upgrade Policy
The last upgrade I installed did not fix it.
I would really like to stop hearing this as an answer.
Phil, It's our standard practice to support the latest version only. So if there is indeed an issue with the version you're running, you'll be asked to upgrade to the latest version.
Let's assume that there is indeed a bug in the version you're using. The only way to resolve that would be to upgrade to latest version (either the current published version or the new build with bug fixed)
I have run into this many times. This is why I did not bother with Support and went to Community.
I am beyond aware of how difficult it is to get an answer one day after your software expires.
This site is for a non-profit that does not have the resources to upgrade yearly.
If you don't want to look into an issue in support that is fine. If you also don't want to look into one in a community forum, then just don't.
Posting an answer to upgrade and it might fix my issue or I may be willing to actually look at it is just annoying.
If you like, feel free to remove this post after reading.
Phil, That's a fair point.
We have standard procedures to respond to posts that require support. When you encounter a standard response to open a support ticket, simply respond by saying that "I don't have active support contract and this is post is for community feedback".
That would be sufficient. Asking us to stop responding with "please open a support ticket" or "upgrade to the latest version" is our standard procedure.
In the community forums, I think you should not answer if it is not an answer to the question.
It then shows up as if it has been answered and may not receive an actually useful reply.
I think a procedure change would be appropriate.
I agree. We'll make sure that we only post an answer if it actually addresses the question. Suggestions such as to open a support ticket should be left as a comment.
We'll update our procedures. Thanks
Thank you.
