It would be nice to control ability to make a pane dissappear on smaller screens. This way content could be on the outside panes full screen but get removed if smaller screen. Maybe a way to select panes to hide on different device types window sizes.
I'm not sure if this aligns with best SEO practices to show different content to mobile vs. desktop. I also don't see how this would help in a mobile first design approach.
something such as an advertisement might not need to be SEO, just displayed with the rest of the content only when used on certain displays. I have used another tool I wont mention that allows this type of responsive design in themes. Mobile has hit a peak I believe... larger screen projecting from your mobile devices is popular. I have just seen this feature and I have seen it used in live sites where there will be some outside content such as advertisements or expanding toolbars/menus depending on the size of the screen. In this particular tool I can set a pane or content to show up or not show up on different devices which generally default to certain window sizes. So if you take your browser window and pretty much shrink it down as small as you want, what is displayed may change depending on if it flows, maybe you might have it appear in a different area same content, but if flows better when it gets viewed certain ways.
This might just be as simple as setting the modules to only show up to visitors using certain window sizes which maybe a DNN feature request. Maybe it is already possible, however using porto to control it would be something I think you can look into.
I can see having a module option to display modules on certain size screens. It is a desktop last approach to utilize the extra whitespaces on each side of a 100% width screen having the columns on the left and right along with main content in the middle. Stuff on the outside really is not important but a place for bonus content for the power desktop users or anyone projecting to a monitor or TV these days.
You could already do this by using media queries to target certain panes. So if I understand the request correctly, you just want to be able to do this via Style Switcher.
Select a pane and then specify whether it should be visible for Mobile / Desktop / Both or perhaps specify a range of width.
