I would like the New Discussion form to be automatically be populated with any tags that were being used to filter the Discussion list page

I think this feature would benefit all of your modules. If you searching for something and cant find it and need to create a new thread, idea, or question then it is very likely you will want the same tags. The tags are clearly seen in the create new form so there would be no confusion, it would be convenient for the user for them to be automatically populated AND tags are much easier to delete than to add.

This would also help carry forward the child forum concept from other forums. Once you are in a child forum (filtering by a tag) if you create a new thread it will by default be added to the same child forum (tag).
