It would be nice to be able to see the most popular tags to discuss or see items of simply by hovering over the tag icon. Click on the icon you get the entire list like it currently does but if you hover a mouse over or possibly a carrot button icon next to it you can see a list of most popular or a set list possibly of tags you wish to display.
I don't see the value add. The only different is click vs hover because the information is already available if someone clicks on the tag.
