It would be nice to have an event calendar module.
It could be a module that can be used for multiple purposes such as a classifieds or directory that expires after so much time and can be managed by a users either as a service provided to allow users to post content.
Needs to allow roles to be able to post along with categories/tags. Maybe there is already a way to do this simply?
There is a need for a simple events module that can be used within groups, profile and public view. The problem with creating a module that does it all is that it not only complicates the module but also makes the user experience complicated too. I am not a fan of modules that do multiple things. Easydnn has a module that has events, blogs, articles, gallery etc and contrary to the name, it's extremely complicated for a user.
A social events module that enables event registration and payment would be a great addition. The core events module has all the features one could want but the user experience is poor and they are dropping the ability to pay for events.
I agree. Which is why I believed the theme switcher for a "Live Listings" would allow customizable options or fields to allow certain roles certain abilities for the user side to give them no more than they really need to get the job done easily. The user interface for those joining the website is most critical to make things smooth and easy to allow managing subscription payments if necessary and posting. I can see something like Live Knowledgebase easily turning into a listings module if it allowed things to expire and be featured along with other listing features such as maps, user ratings as a seller and so on.
But like you said a lot of extra stuff gets added that ends up confusing a user. I see it on the articles module here as well... too much to input to get the job done easily. Have to study a lot how it works first before you get anywhere. However the forums, answers, knowledgebase and helpdesk are a lot more freindly.
I suppose I need to get more familiar with all the capabilities in the ManDeeps collection.
I am looking add to a users profile page the ability to modify and add events to that users profile events page and possibly show those events on another page from all the users that submit public events.
And a featured event can only be posted by certain roles with.
I want users to be able to post and manage events, blogs, articles, images, videos and content in the members user area that can be shared with others. And these pages that allow them to show contect to be able to set privacy on them if they want to share with everyone or just friends.
Maybe just need the templates created to make these features available.
I'm not sure if I really understand the use case we're trying to solve. There are several modules that we can already use for a classified or directory (with new templates).
Can you elaborate more on the events or calendar functionality?
Is there a way I can easily setup an event calendar that allows users to post events that expire after the event has passed? This would be great for actually being able to use Live Articles to allow users to post a listing if they belong to a security role. Like registered users being able to post events, listings and so on.
Seems like Live Articles is designed more for a web administrator to post content and not as a user frienldy to allow users to manage and post things along with managing subscriptions.
When I purchased I was under the impression I could do this for events and listings... "possibilities are endless".
I see no way to manage or allow users to create a listing or event.
Same with the gallery module plugins, I would like these to be able to be used to where users can upload and manage their own galleries.

has a great example of what I am talking about just would be nice if it all worked seemless with your products. Maybe a "Live Listings" module that is dedicated to allowing listing events, products, classifieds, autos, real estate, jobs, businesses similar coding to your forums with themes to select. Featured items and subscription based access with statistics. I just can't find one that pleases me enough to want to spend the money they ask. And it isnt even about the money so much as the time spent once fully commited to a product setting it up and inputing data.
I wish to sort articles by event end dates, and show event calendars sort of like the blog does where it shows when events are happening so you can click on a calendar to see events for that date.
I suppose what I am after the "Live Visualizer" is suppose to help create.
Pretty much I wish to make a way that is modern looking to allow people to find, view and post events by date and/or category topics.
A simple workflow that allows users to easily post events, and a very modern mobile freindly UI experience to view and edit the posts.
I am hoping sometime in the near future I will be able to accomplish having a way to allow users to post events on my site that looks good and is easy to do. I can manually create event pages myself... not a biggy to have events on a web page... Pretty old stuff still waiting for a good module that can be used. I suppose allowing users to have personal event calenders or posts... or even a way for a user to see all the blog posts, pictures, videos and so on that may have been shared on the website with a dashboard.
There are no modules for DNN currently that I would pay for currently. And I am hoping to keep everything linked within the Mandeeps and DNN frameworks.
I see the live storefront should do the job on the front end which is great... just need the ability to actually create some sites that allow people to share and network.

Social Groups, User and Site calendar operation.
Maybe its one calendar or Live Articles instanca that has permissions to even view or see other calendars so you can put the social groups user and site calendars in one instance so when a user wants to post an event they click to post the event and can then select where they may like to put it. If they are part of any social groups those options are available along with site calendars that user is allowed to post and personal calendar. Not sure if any of this helps to understand what I would love to see. I will try to hack something together out of what is currently available or I may even try to create it myself. I wish I had the money to sponsor it...
YES! a Live Events Calendar or add fields and features to Live Articles to make this possible with templates.
For Live Articles - adding date type fields and the ability to expire event articles would be necessary...
It looks like there is still need for an Events/Calendar module. Can we start another idea and define requirements. We'll be happy to add it to the roadmap.
