"Publication widgets" that draw from multiple instances of LiveArticles

LiveArticles works well for publishing a magazine that is composed of multiple articles. In this case, one instance of LiveArticles = one issue of a magazine.

Where it falls short is in trying to present multiple magazines as a cohesive publication, e.g. multiple instances of LiveArticles = one publication. The idea is to extend the existing set of widgets to fill this gap. For example:

- provide an option in the "Recent Comments" widget to enable the display of recent comments from among multiple instances of LiveArticles

- extend the search to optionally include multiple instances of LiveArticles in the results

- provide for showing "most popular" from across multiple instances of LiveArticles

Live Articles is meant as a publication system. You should publish every magazine in the same instance of Live Articles. One of the things that's extremely important in software building is ease of use. By supporting custom scenarios such as this one we make the software bloated and extremely difficult for end users to understand or manage.

Unfortunately, I don't see widgets pulling data from multiple Live Articles modules.
