Just having From: set in emails isn't always enough, I need to be able to specify a Reply-to address as well.
We are using a generic smtp account to send emails from our DNN sites, and when using just From: it appends the name of the hosting account in the From field of emails that are sent out.
eg We have an auto-responder Email Alert that has the from address as [email protected]. When the email arrives it is marked as
Sender: Webdevs <[email protected]>
From: [email protected]
Where Webdevs is the name of our company and set by our hosting organisation on our SMTP account.
It is now available in v5.
Hey
I've installed the new version but it seems you've got the dropdown the wrong way around on From and ReplyTo.
In order to prevent an email being marked as spam when making it look like it comes from a form submitted, you must have the From as coming from a domain you control ie the same as the website and the ReplyTo can be the users own email address. That way, when the email is received and someone hits "reply" they are writting back to the form submitter.
However, you've got the dropdown on the From field and the textbox on the ReplyTo. Are you able to swap these around as the way it is doesn't make any sense.
Thanks. (liking all your other new features btw)
Yes. We'll get this updated. Thanks
So if I understand correctly, you're requesting "From Name" and "Reply To" email address options?
correct
Great. I've accepted this idea for next version. Thanks
Is this going to be added in soon? I've had to remove this module from a few of our sites because emails aren't being delivered as they are blocked by SPF and theres no way around it for how I need to send emails except using reply to. Can we have this feature soon please?
This feature has been added in Live Forms 5; it should release within 2 weeks. Thanks
