The Live Storefront widget allows you to show categories or manufacturers. It would be very helpful to be able to drill down to a specific category or manufacturer. This way you can create landing pages with information about a category or manufacturer and offer the correct products
I'm not sure if I understand this correctly. You can already drill down in Categories since it supports Nested Categories. Manufactures cannot be drilled down because it doesn't support hierarchy.
Each category has its own landing page with correct products.
Tycho probably means that it would be nice to have a product overview already filtered by category on a certain page.
In the current situation, when I would like products of a certain category visible on a page, I need to redirect that page to the shop url of that category.
It's a mix of this situation and the idea of having the ability to place a Storefront Widget for Product Views I've seen here.

Yes but this is all within URL-management of the shop.
We are talking about a way to show certain products, belonging to a certain category or manufacturer, on a page of our choice; not per se within the store. Thats why I was referring to this post, where someone pointed out it would be nice to be able to add the Products Query Widget, including the possibility to select a category or manufacturer.
