Sure seems like there should be a way for a community to vote on best answer as a setting in admin panel if you like or dont need.

Microsoft site has an interesting concept to support answers which looks more similar to this one without:

• the ability to allow users to say it was helpful
• how many others had the same issue.

However Yahoo answer site is more what I am looking for and I believe is more common for general communities instead of business Q&A.

• Best Answer (you see the thumbs up and down)
• Ability to sort by rating, newest, oldest, relevance
• Rating for the question itself 1-5 stars

I agree it should serve both purposes for styles of business or general community to be a full featured Q&A Exchange.  Right now it serves more like a good idea or good question voting only and nothing for users to want to put that great answer in and get rewarded with best answer.

These should hold different weight or points for the gamification module as well.
