What I encounter many times is that a customer approaches us with the question: why are there no more emails send?
I remember this has something to do with a renaming or deletion of a field...

It is by design.
Live Forms deletes Email action or Email alerts if you delete any field associated with it.
In Email Action, you can specify conditions based on fields or other actions but in Email alerts not.
