dynamic default value (e.g., Profile Tokens) for dropdowns

This feature request is to be able to reference a dynamic value such as a Profile Token when setting the default value of a dropdown. Currently, the default value for a dropdown is a literal string. Even so, the profile tokens are already being made available when entering a left bracket "[" in the entry field. This feature is a key missing piece in building out a registration or profile update form.

I just tried live forms 5.7.9 and saw in the release notes Dynamic Dropdown binding issue fixed. However, I tried it, set the default value to a profile token for a dropdown selection. And it still is not working. I'm trying to bind the users profile country to a drop down on live forms.

Thanks

I too would love this. Example would be a country drop down where it would select the users country from their profile. I too am trying to use it for updating profile and registration.

I don't believe they are duplicate because a default value might be specified, then a selected value would overrule it. Both are necessary for having intelligent dropdowns or similar controls. Since they are both dynamic (there's the duplicity), they become really powerful in how they can be used. The use cases for me are in building out some user preference areas and some hierarchical licensing forms.

Okay. Thanks for the clarification.
