Support MetaWeblog API again

The MetaWeblog API used to be a supported feature, but it has recently become unsupported for some reason.  This support allowed us to create and manage blog posts outside of the website, giving us the choice of blog editors and the powerful features they all have (including Open Live Writer).  Please support this again.

MetaWebLog API is still supported in Live Blog; we officially dropped support for "Windows Live Writer" since the software has been deprecated and not updated in years. There has been no change in offline editor capabilities from Live Blog 3 to 4.

I would request you to add another idea explicitly requesting support for "Open Live Writer" and we'll happily test our products with it.

It seems that Live Articles does not support any offline editors anymore. For me, this is a show stopper. Why do you remove functionality that is important for end users?

For the record, no functionality was removed. We will officially release an update to both Live Blog and Live Articles after testing it with Live Open Writer (and/or Live Writer). We will update the listing material to re-instate that both of these products support MetaWebLog API; however, we will not officially support any 3rd party software that is no longer maintained. Thanks

For the record, there isn't any official ask for supporting a specific third-party software.  Open Live Writer just happens to be the most commonly used third-party tool in the ecosystem.  Rather, it's supporting an API standard, so any third-party software may be used to manage content offline, using a far superior editing tool.  A tool that performs tasks that web-based tools simply aren't able to yet.

Oh yes, this is really important. I use Live Articles and if this gets removed also from LA it is useless to me
