Add a new product variation

Add a new variation to a product that comes in more than one option. For example, a shirt that is available in multiple colors and sizes. Each variation has its own price, cost, weight, and images.

To add a new product variation:

  1. Create a new product or Edit an existing one
  2. In Variations section, Click New Variation
  3. Select Specification. For example, let's say Color. Create new specification if you don't see it in the list.
  4. Optionally, instead of showing Specification Name on product page, you may provide an alternative Label
  5. Click Yes for Required if customer must select an option
  6. Select an option for Display
  7. From Options section, Click Add Option
  8. Select Option
  9. Leave the value to 0 if Price, Cost, and Weight is same as product details. Otherwise, enter an adjustment value.
  10. Select Yes for Pre-Selected if you want this option to be default when the product page loads
  11. Add Images for this option. Images will automatically switch when a customer selects this option.
  12. Click Add
  13. Repeat step #7 to #12 to add additional options.
  14. Be sure to click Add from Variations section

Display Variations

- Dropdown and Radiobutton lists are great for single value options such as Size and Color. Customer can only choose one color and size; For example, Large Blue Shirt.
- Checkbox list is great for multiple value options such as Software in a build your own computer product. For example, user may want virus protection and Microsoft Office
- Textbox, or Multiline Textbox are for special cases such as Engraving Text for products that can be customized

Adjustments
A positive value increases the price, cost, or weight as defined in product details. Negative value decreases it.

For example, let's say we're selling a phone for $499. Our cost is $400 and weight is 1.2 pounds as defined in product details. Now we want to add a new variation of same phone that is available in bigger screen size. It's price will be $599, cost $450, and weight is 1.5 pounds.

In this example, we would use 100 for price adjustment, 50 for cost adjustment, and 0.3 for weight adjustment. On the other hand, if we had a variation that was $50 cheaper than the base price then we would use -50 as price adjustment.
