Bounce management feature can automatically check your mail server and identify the emails that have bounced back. Live Campaign classifies the bounced messages as either a Hard Bounce or Soft Bounce. By parsing the bounced email addresses, we maintain a clean and healthy subscriber list and accurate reports.
Step 1:
Navigate to Live Campaign module > Administration > Bounce Management
Note: All emails in the inbox will be permanently deleted periodically after checking for bounced messages.
Check Enable Bounce Management
We strongly recommend to use a dedicated email account such as [email protected] for bounce management purposes only.
IMPORTANT: When sending an email campaign make sure that From Email address is the same address as the one setup in bounce management. You should use the same [email protected] address in the Default Settings From field.
Provide the appropriate server information for your email account. Refer to your hosting provider or mail administrator for this information.
Hard Bounce
These are permanent bounces indicating that the email address is no longer valid and can no longer accept emails. Therefore, Live Campaign will not send emails to these addresses in future.
By default, module will no longer send messages to email address after 1 Hard Bounce. You can increase this number but a permanent bounce suggest that we should not attempt a delivery again. We recommend leaving this value at 1.
Soft Bounce
These are temporary bounces indicating that a temporary issue is keeping the email from being delivered. These issues could be user over quote, mail server problem, and so on.
By default, module will attempt to send messages to these addresses in future until it has Soft Bounced at least 3 times. You can increase or decrease this value as you deem fit.
Override Global Bounce Management
By default, bounce management is defined for each Portal. Alternatively, an admin can define bounce management settings for all portals with ability to override t individual portal level.
